Artwork

New art in my collection...
2/24/12

I couldn't wait to get these new watercolors from Myounghwa Lee. I absolutely love the vibe I get from her studies of birds. She is really able to capture their beauty with her palette choices. These I am planning on framing and starting yet another miniature gallery. I loved the personal touch on these pieces... the poems help give me incite into what she was thinking when she painted these. Truly a remarkable young artist.

I had a very pleasant surprise when Myounghwa wanted to paint my two angel kitties, Syene and Osiris. These two were our very special Egyptian Maus that we shared many wonderful times with. One of their favorite things to do was curl up together in their basket on top of the fridge. They always looked so adorable. Thank you, Myounghwa, you really captured their essence!

These watercolor studies of the eye, are by Vancouver,WA  artist Katie Bradley. She has a wonderful style and does fantastic nursery art.  She is also a children's book illustrator. Really charming. I can't say enough about her art. You can find her work here: http://www.etsy.com/people/MossyRockDesigns

ACEO's: Collecting Tiny Masterpieces..

ACEO's, or art card editions and originals, are any type of art work that is 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches in size. You may use any style or material that you would like in creating these miniature pieces of art. How did it all get started, you ask?? In 1997 there was a meeting of artists in Zurich, Switzerland. The artists gathered together and talked, ate, drank and exchanged business cards. One artist by the name of M. Vanci Stirnemann, thought it would be a great idea if artists could exchange pieces of art, instead of business cards. The artists thought it was such a good idea, that they stayed up well into the night creating cards. Thus with those initial trades, the love of artist card trading began. I will be posting information on ACEO's, and sharing my personal collection of paintings. If you have questions, feel free to ask!
